I've done a lot of things in my life I'm not proud of. Sometimes I feel like I need... punishment. If you see what I'm getting at.
I thought the Time Agency just wanted to scan the baby. I was fool enough to think they only wanted to scan Reinette, too. They ended up turning me into a feotuss baby as well. They played me. They'll never get to do that again.
They...they told me they just wanted to run some tests on you, too. To find out how you survived, or something. I was supposed to infiltrate the house, gain your trust, and bring you to the lab.
But I overheard heard them. Laughing, the bastards. They didn't have your memories. They planned to kill you. And Penny and Reinette...and...
I couldn't let them... it was my fault they came here.

I killed them. Once they brought me here. And I burned down the lab, with Pfred. I had to make it look accidental. So they wouldn't come looking.
And then, when you wanted me to get you into a room with Penny and Reinette, I thought - I thought - It'd all been for nothing, that you would really have, and when I trusted you, and I just couldn't - I couldn't let you -
